To qualify the applicant needs to be in the age range of 20 – 35 and should be of sound health and clean criminal history. You are also required to have achieved the qualifications (generally a level 7 New Zealand Qualification). This is a quota based application. Every year there are 300 places opened for this visa.

Applications for the quota for 2016 will be accepted from 20th November, 2016. Once granted a visa, the applicant has 6 months to travel to New Zealand and activate the visa. You are also allowed to study for 3 months within the validity of this visa. Once you have a job secured under this visa, you can then apply for an extension for a 2 year work visa and then apply for a residence under the Skilled Migrant Category. You can only apply for this visa once in life time.
